[Updated March 2020]
Do you have a favorite playlist? One you listen to on the way to school or to “get in the zone” before a sporting event? What about a worship play list? One that you listen to when you’re feeling down or to get you in the groove before church?
Many of us have our favorite playlists and I want to challenge you to add these five songs, or similar ones you may like better, to the playlist you listen to most often. I promise if you focus on the words and the message, it will lift your spirits and remind you of the amazing gifts of Christ’s death on the cross. So here we go!
***FOR 2020 I AM PUTTING MY FAVORITE EASTER SONGS***
Five Songs for Easter
“Death was Arrested”
Every time I hear this song I just want to jump up and down. The freedom we gained when Christ arose should be a cause for joy everyday. There’s a part in this song where they just have the audience sing and it’s so powerful. Please listen :).
“He Lives”
I love the words of this hymn, and I hope you do too.
“Up From the Grave He Arose”
OK…You probably have to be raised on this song to really like it. Give it a listen and see what you think ;).
“He’s Alive”
I like this song because my dad BLARES is every Easter multiple times throughout the day. Also, Dolly Parton is aweseome.
“Because He Lives” Bill Gaither
Confession: I love Southern Gospel music. You probably have to grow up with this music to truly like it, but give it a chance ;). Even if this type of music isn’t your thing, the words of this song offer so much hope. Because Jesus is ALIVE we can face anything that comes our way and this song is a great reminder. The person singing this is NOT Bill Gaither. It’s Randy Owens from the group Alabama. I couldn’t find the Gaither version I wanted.
In Closing
Are there any good ones I missed? Let me know you’re favorites here!
To me, Easter/Resurrection Sunday is the most EXCITING time of the year. The closer it gets, my heart is filled with un-explainable joy.
