Vlog: Dating Basics- The Bad Date

October 19, 2016

Teen Dating Basics: The Bad Date| Christian Dating| Teenage Dating| Transformed4More.com| Ministry Blog for Teenage Girls

Dating is an interesting event. I’m sure there are thousands of articles out there about dating and how to do it. So why do I feel the need to add to it? Two reasons.

Reason 1: Because many of the articles I’ve read are not from a Christian perspective.

Reason 2: Some people are never taught the basics of a date in a simple understandable way.  A few months ago, I heard a 22 year old girl, who has dated many people, say that she had recently gone on a date. What was different about this one is that the guy actually came to the door and picked her up. I was shocked. If a guy had ever come to my house and not come to the door, my dad would not have let me leave the house. In my dad’s view, if I’m not worth coming to the door for, how much could he possibly like me? [You’re awesome dad :)!].

Due to these two reasons, Susan and I enlisted the help of three teenage volunteers to make two “How to go on a date” videos. One for the bad date and one for the good date. The video below is for the bad date.

Three Reasons You Probably Won’t Marry Your HS Sweetheart

October 17, 2016

Three reasons won't marry high school sweetheart| Teenage Dating| Christian Dating| Transformed4more.com

“4 years.” This statement was written in chalk on a board long ago that stood as a promise that after my high school sweetheart got out of the Marines and I graduated college that we would get married. I was 18; he was 17…

This memory was revived the other day when my husband came home and told me about one of his freshman male students and his girlfriend. The boy told my husband that he and his girlfriend already had their lives planned out. They would finish high school, she would go to college, he would start working, and when she graduated, they would get married, and everything would be perfect.

I almost spit out my water. I just kept thinking, “They have the rest of their lives planned out and they’re 14/15 years old?” Then I remembered how I was not so different.

This story and my story played over and over again in my head the next few weeks, so I finally decided to write a post about it. This is in no way critical of teenage relationships and if you are in one, what I’m about to say is not meant to offend you…

Four Ways to Combat the Fear of Missing Out

October 4, 2016

Christian Teenager| Fear of Missing Out| Teenage Girl Ministry| Transformed4More.com

As a Christian teen, do you ever fear that you’re missing out on life sometimes?

Have you ever overheard people at school talk about a party they went to over the weekend? Tons of alcohol and almost getting caught by the police?

What about them doing pills or having sex and the “thrill” that is involved?

If you go to public high school, and sometimes even if you don’t, you will hear a consistent flow of these types of conversations. With our sinful nature, these stories can sound enticing and exciting. What a thrill it would be to do those things.

You may think to yourself, “Too bad I’m a Christian and am missing out on all the fun…”
