I know that this website centers around Christian blogs and resources, but I wanted to change it up today and share with you some of the most influential books that aren’t specifically religious that Susan and I want to recommend to you. So instead of giving you a long introduction, let’s just get to it!

Four influential books
First up is Warriors Don’t Cry: A Searing Memoir of the Battle to Integrate Little Rock’s Central High. I read this book in middle school and it had a deep effect on me. So deep, I actually made a trip to see the school as an adult.
The author is one of the “Little Rock Nine” who integrated Central High School in Little Rock Arkansas. The harrowing ordeals Melba had to endure brought me to tears and stung my heart. It was the first autobiographical book about racism I had ever read and I would recommend it to anyone to read ages 12 and up. You can click the title above or the graphic below to learn more.
Second on the list is School Choice Myths: Setting the Record Straight on Education Freedom. I have multiple degrees in education and have taught in various educational settings from elementary school through college. Education is really important to me, so when the “battle” of school choice began, I wanted to be more informed. This book is full of research and insight into the school choice movement and a book anyone interested in learning more about the movement should read. You can click the title or the image below to learn more.
Next is Glow Kids: How Screen Addiction Is Hijacking Our Kids – and How to Break the Trance. When my first born was very young, I wanted to learn more about screens and children. This book was extremely eye opening and helped me form my boundaries and rules for screen time. If you’re wanting to know more research on this topic, this is a must read! Click the title or image below to learn more.
And last but not least, The Total Money Makeover: Classic Edition: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness. Dave Ramsey is a well known name in the financial world and before reading this book, I considered myself pretty financially savvy.
This book made me more aware of common financial pitfalls and taught me more about investing. If you’re wanting to get more in control of your finances, give this book a read. Again, just click the title or the image below to learn more!
In closing
