Every month, Google sends me and e-mail that lists what people type in the search bar that leads them to our site. It has never failed over the last year that in the top three results is the question, “Will God forgive me for sexting?” Actually, for most of the last 12 months, this search has been the number one traffic driver to our site.

So why did I type this out first instead of just giving you the answer? Because I want you to know you’re not alone. You may feel that way- like you’re the only Christian girl who has ever given into the temptation or felt the pressure to sext. I assure you, you are not, after all the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you, except what is common to mankind,” and I can tell you, sexual temptation is allllllll too common. The short answer on sexting

The short answer is YES. God will absolutely forgive you for sexing. After all 1 John 1:9 (ESV) states, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” However, I implore you, do not exit out of this post and think it is just that simple. Costi’s testimony was riveting to me becuase I saw his uncle on TV multiple times growing up and had not idea what all was really taught and believed in the “prosperity” gospel. It was extremely eye opening.

Also, we first learned about Costi in the American Gospel Documentary. We recommend that as well. Also, Costi has just released his second book called  More than a Healer.

If you consider yourself a Christian, then one or both of the following questions has likely entered your mind.

  • How do I know I’m saved?

  • How do I show someone who believes they are saved, but is living in open unrepentant sin, that he/she might not understand true conversion?

During my Christian life, I have wrestled with both of these questions. After much search and study, I think a good place to consider the answers to them is 1 John.


Why 1 John?

For quite awhile, I had been contending with the second question listed above. One day, while reading through 1 John, God through the Holy Spirit allowed me to see that John lays out clearly and specifically some characteristics true Christians should possess.

Before we fully dive in, I highly recommend that either before you continue reading, or after you finish this post, that you take time to read through 1 John yourself for full context.

Please know that I am not here “judge” anyone’s salvation. Also, I know we are not saved through works, etc.; this is just meant as a starting point for consideration and further study.

Why I wrote God’s Not Gray:

When Susan and I started this ministry in 2016, we followed hundreds of youth groups and churches on social media. After a few years, I noticed that many of them were not teaching basic tenants of Scripture, or they were twisting God’s word to make it more palatable for the congregation.

Because of this “watered-down” preaching, deception abounds. My heart for this book is for Christians to understand biblical basics and how that applies to different battles we are facing in the culture.

The target audiences for this book are three main groups.

  • The first is high school/college age individuals. Since each church varies on what it teaches, this book is a great resource to make sure they learned biblical basics and how that applies to some of the cultural battles we face.
